Bar Service, Circa 1930's...
This fabulous & curvy Sideboard/Bar
features fantastic European bookmatched burl & crown-cut walnut veneers over rich mahogany and a maple backing. Note the fascinating patterns the veneers form! The center bar service is
slightly elevated to present a tiered appearance and accessed via a wooden door with a glass panel that's painted with a spectacular
golden Deco design. When this drop-down door is lowered, the top pops-up to reveal an interior lined in beautiful golden
sycamore, a clear mirrored back, a reverse-painted bottom mirror with diamond designs, six original bakelite martini picks,
an original chrome juicer and the original tubular light fixture which has been rewired for American circuit and illuminates
automatically. On either side of the bar service are two sizable service drawers for storing various bar accoutrement.
Directly below are two large curved doors that access a spacious bottom storage area that also includes a long wooden
shelf. Of special note are the unusual but gorgeous ivory bakelite pulls mounted to all the doors.
