English Art Deco Pop-Up Sideboard/Bar of Burl & Crown-Cut Walnut with
Red Mirrored Bar Service & Triple Mechanism, Circa 1930's... 

This gorgeous cabinet features beautiful European bookmatched burl & crown-cut walnut veneers over rich mahogany and a maple backing.  Note the mysterious patterns & images within these veneers...  What strange creature do you see...  Perhaps a wild cat or even the Devil ?  When the outwardly curved double doors of the bar service are opened, the the curved top pops-up and the entire service moves forward!  The inside is lined in a brown mahogany and features red reverse-painted mirrors with a delightful Deco inspired design on the back & bottom, ivory bakelite railing & an ivory curved bakelite shelf, six original blue bakelite & metal martini picks, a chrome juicer and the original light fixture which has been rewired for American circuit and automatically illuminates upon opening of the doors.  Directly below the bar service is a small storage compartment (21" Wide x 11 1/2" Deep x 11" Tall) for the display of bottles & barware and is accessed via two sliding glass doors with a spectacular sliver painted Deco design.  An aftermarket light fixture has been added to this compartment to provide soft & sexy accent lighting.  Below this is a curved service drawer for the storage of various bar accoutrement.  On either side of the sideboard are two small pull-out mahogany service drawers near the top and two spacious mahogany storage compartments below, each with a wooden shelf and accessed via large doors.  Of special note are the beautiful & decorative brass pulls, as well as the scalloped pedestal base.
