Side Display Compartments, Circa 1940's...

This most unusual cocktail cabinet features beautiful European bookmatched crown-cut & burl walnut veneers and accents of stunning flame mahogany. Note how the veneers flow from the top of the cabinet in a seamless manner and cascade down in continuous & intriguing patterns... Incredible artisanship! ( What strange creatures do you see within these veneer patterns... perhaps an elephant... hippopotamus... or both? ) When the drop-down door is lowered via a Deco inspired brown bakelite bakelite handle, the top pops-up revealing a fantastic bar service lined in fabulous flame mahogany and with clear mirrors on the back, bottom & drop-down door. Attached to the back of the pop-up panel is a stainless steel juicer & three original multicolored bakelite martini picks. Although this particular cabinet was not originally equipped with a light fixture, a nice LED light has been added to the bar service that illuminates with the touch of a button. Directly below the bar service is a service drawer with two bakelite pulls that provides additional storage for various bar accoutrement. The bottom storage compartment is spacious, lined in the same flame mahogany, includes a large wooden shelf and accessed via two double doors with bakelite pulls. The two full-length side display compartments are slanted inward (very unusual), lined in the same flame mahogany, includes two glass shelves in each, are accessed via gorgeous framed glass doors with bakelite pulls and accented with after-market & push-button LED lighting. This really is a fabulous Bar and spectacular at night when illuminated !
