English Art Deco Cellarette of Light Burl Walnut, Circa 1930's...

This gorgeous cabinet features European bookmatched crown-cut & burl walnut veneers over rich ribbon mahogany and a cedar backing & bottom. Note how the veneers flow from the top of the cabinet in a seamless manner and cascade down in continuous & interesting patterns... Incredible artisanship! ( What strange images do you see within these intriguing veneers... perhaps a wolf or ET? ) When the drop-down door is lowered, the top pops-up and the original light fixture which has been rewired for American circuit automatically illuminates. The bar service is lined in rich ribbon mahogany and includes all the original reverse-painted mirrors. The mirror on the drop-down door has an unusual & attractive design, but it does have some minor blemishes due to years of beverage spillage by the unsteady or drunk British owner! (It can be replaced with clear if you prefer.) The original chrome juicer & all red bakelite martini picks are also included. The bottom storage area provides ample room for plenty of bottles & barware, includes a wide shelf & cutouts for liquor bottles, and the doors can be locked with the original barrel key. Note the spectacular Art Deco brass pulls!
