This gorgeous cabinet features fabulous European bookmatched crown-cut & burl walnut veneers over ribbon mahogany and a cedar backing & bottom. Note the spectacular & intriguing patterns the veneers form. ( What strange images do you see within these veneers? ) When the mirrored drop-down door is lowered, the top pops-up and the original light fixture which has been rewired for American circuit automatically illuminates. The bar service is lined in rich ribbon mahogany and includes an original reverse-painted mirror with stylized bar scene on the back (martini glasses, cocktail shaker, stars & star bursts) and clear mirrors on the bottom & drop-down door. Attached to the pop-up panel are six original multi-colored bakelite martini picks & a chrome juicer. The two magenta side lights are activated via a push-button switch on the back and provide soft mood lighting. (Magenta lighting can be replaced with opaque white if you prefer.) The expansive bottom storage area is lined in the same rich ribbon mahogany and has ample space for plenty of bottles & barware, includes a center shelf & cutouts for various liquor bottles, and both doors can be locked utilizing the same original barrel key. Of special note is the beautiful Deco inspired brass pull.
