Large Cocktail Cabinet of Walnut with Inlayed Oriental Motif
English Art Deco Cocktail Cabinet of Walnut with
 Spectacular & Exotic Inlayed Oriental Motif, Circa 1930's...

This extraordinary cocktail cabinet features European bookmatched crown-cut & burl walnut veneers over rich mahogany and includes a cedar backing.  Spectacular & exotic Oriental scenes are meticulously inlayed into the veneers to add a colorful & dramatic effect.  Note how the veneers flow from the top of the cabinet in a seamless manner and cascade down in a continuous pattern...  Absolutely incredible artisanship!  The bar service is lined in a stunning flame mahogany and accented with a brass railing, includes the original reverse-painted mirrors with a stylized bar scene on the back (martini glasses - shakers - bubbles - stars - starbursts), a striped bottom mirror and a center glass shelf.  On the back of the double doors are two smaller wooden shelves with brass railings for the display of cordials, a stainless steel juicer and six original multi-colored bakelite martini picks. Located directly below the bar service is a pull-out tray with striped mirror for the mixing of your beverages. The original light fixture has been rewired for American circuit and automatically illuminates when the double doors are opened.  The bottom storage area is very spacious, lined in the same flame mahogany, includes a large wooden shelf and features three copper clips on the back of each door for the retaining of various liquor or wine bottles.  Note the original London manufacturer's label is still prominently displayed on the back of the right door, and all doors can be locked with the same original barrel key.
