SOLD to Bob @ Jersey City, NJ !
This spectacular Cellarette is crafted of gorgeous European bookmatched burl & crown-cut walnut veneers over rich mahogany and includes a backing & bottom of cedar. Note how the veneers flow from the top of the cabinet in a seamless manner and cascade down in continuous & intriguing patterns… Incredible artisanship! (What strange images do you see within these veneers?) Of special note is the rare triple mechanism utilized on this cabinet… When the drop-down door is lowered via a Deco inspired brass pull the top pops-up, the original light fixture which has been rewired for American circuit automatically illuminates and the entire bar service moves forward! The bar service is lined in a stunning flame mahogany, includes the original chrome juicer & six bakelite/metal martini picks attached to the pop-up panel, features the original reverse-painted & gold striped mirrors on the bottom & drop-down door and the original reverse-painted mirror with a gold stylized bar scene (shakers / martini glass / picks / bubbles / stars / starbirsts) on the back. Other special features are the polished brass trim & accents utilized throughout and the manufacturer’s white bakelite label attached to the back of the right double-door announcing Rivington… Product of London. The spacious bottom storage compartment is lined in the same stunning flame mahogany, includes a wooden ceter shelf, has ample room for plenty of bottles & barware and is accessed via beautiful curved double-doors that can be locked with their original barrel key.
